Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright. Psalm 20:7-8 A few days ago, during one of the air raids, our son was really frustrated, so he asked, "If God is almighty, can't He just stop this war? And if He can, why doesn't he?" I knew the "right answer" to this question, and as I proceeded with it, I kept checking my own heart, trying to see if I accepted my answer or if I just repeat a "ready-made solution" prepared by someone else. What does it mean to me that God is sovereign? What does it mean to me that He is gracious? What does it mean to me that our hearts and our eternity matter more than our immediate circumstances? What does it mean to me that God wants all people to be saved? I must admit, that not all of these questions were easy. I can't say that I understand God's will or that it's easy for me to accept it. However, I also know better than to rely on my feelings or circumstances because they change, yet He doesn't. Can we pray today to this God who does not change. We cannot understand all things, but we can pray to the God does understand. Pray for peace! Al Akimoff and the Slavic Ministries Team Comments are closed.
