The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. Psalm 146:9 We visited grandma over the weekend. With the actual spring rapidly approaching, I excitedly checked out every flowerbed and tree branch. I can't wait for the seeds to sprout and for the plants to awake from their winter slumber. This anticipation once again reminded me about the sovereignty of God. No gardener or farmer ever knows what their harvest will be. They can only be faithful in their job and let God do the rest, as it is He who sends rain or brings life out of a dry seed. While admiring this seemingly simple truth, I was also reminded that it is true for all areas of our lives. Even with this war, we don't know when there will be a breakthrough; we have little control over what will happen, but we can be certain that if we want our efforts to yield fruit, we must faithfully do our best with our responsibilities. Lord, help us be faithful, and let us see Your reward. Thank you for your continued faithfulness in prayer, those prayers will yield fruit. We need only to remain faithful in that which we can do.
