So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 My son and I were running some errands today. I love it when we don't have to rush and can walk together, enjoying the company of each other and some good conversations. We were almost home when he asked me, "Mom, is it right that we can praise God with everything we do? So even when I'm just walking, even when my heart is beating, I can praise God?" I loved his question as it allowed us to talk about creation (including our whole being) reflecting God’s glory, and that is precisely what we were created to do. This conversation stayed with me throughout the day. It was with me when I checked the news and read about explosions in six regions of Ukraine during the morning missile attack (we are in the village now, so I had the luxury of missing the big news in the morning). It was with me when I saw pictures of a damaged school in Lviv, and I could tell it was their English classroom. It was with me when I saw a deep crater created by a shot-down missile near Bucha. I kept going back to my conversation with my son, asking myself how can one who was created for God's glory do something so wicked. It all comes down to choices, and all choices have consequences. Lord, help us live to your glory, and let us see your justice restored in Ukraine! Can we help lift up the arms of our Ukrainian friends, can we praise God with them even in the midst of the most difficult circumstances. Let’s continue in fervent prayer.
