And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 This week, we sang a couple of worship songs with my students before the classes, and it happened (without me planning it) that all of the songs repeated the idea that God is constantly looking out for us, protecting us, and is always faithful. I felt it appropriate to share the verse from Romans 8:28 with them, but perhaps I needed this reminder more than they did. Sometimes, we get caught up in our circumstances, forgetting to see the big picture. So, as I was talking to my students about these things, I was also silently praying for them to see the testimony of God's goodness, to notice His mercy and grace despite circumstances, for their hearts not to be hardened up by the cruelty of this world (and this war), but be inspired by the promises God gives to His children. Please, pray for the children of Ukraine. This full-scale stage of the war has been going on for almost two years (with the initial aggression beginning nearly 10 years ago), which means most of the conscious life for this young generation. May the Lord have mercy, and may they be His generation in this land. Pray for the next generation that they and future generations will not be affected for life.
